Project Linus
An article appeared in Parade Magazine entitled "Joy to the World" by Pulitzer prize winning photo-journalist, Eddie Adams. Part of the article featured a petite, downy haired child.  She had been going through intensive chemotherapy and states that her security blanket has helped her get throug treatments. Karen Loucks decided to provide homemade security blankets to Denver's Rocky Mountain Children's Cancer Centre. Project Linus was born.

In July 2002, we held our 2nd Exhibition at Balleygrant Hall, and decided to promote Project Linus by signing a square, or writing a message, this was so successful that we have carried on with this in our workshop and have sent 10 blankets in 2 months to Project linus. Here are some of the squares and the finished blankets that our visitors help us make.
After a visit to the Islay Quilters during the summer, Sue Clark returned home and started making quilts for Project Linus. 12 quilts later and many of her friends now also involved, she has involved the Young Embroiderers group of Chichister too, above are some of the girls with there beautiful quilts, WELL DONE GIRLS, you put the adult stitchers to shame.
