CELTIC STONES
The stones have been made by scanning the pictures of Celtic stones, and then printing the pictures onto special paper which allows us to transfer the images onto cloth when they are ironed.
The stones are then quilted using a variety of threads.
Here is an image of the horsemen showing the various coloured threads being used.
This time the picture shows an image of a piece of jewellery, again coloured threads were used to add life to the stone.
You can also see the wadding used to help give a three-D effect.
In each of the letters a mixture of machine and hand sewing has been used. You will be able to view closely the change of threads and materials used.

I hope you have enjoyed your walk through our wall-hanging, in the background of the picture you can see the standing stones which represent the old religion and way of life, the mast of the boat holds the cross of Christ bringing in the new religion and knowledge. As with many things the old and the new meet in the middle and as the mast of the boat becomes the roots of the tree, we see the old wisdom and knowledge mixing in with new.
look closely and you will see bones and shells helping to decorate this part of the wall-hanging.
